'The reason we race isn't so much to beat each other, but to be with each other'- Christopher McDougall

Amount raised for Cancer Research = £3219

And so it was on the afternoon of Friday 17th May 2019,following a busy week of tests in school, that the family of Sutton CP School came out in force for their annual 'Race for Life' in support of Cancer Research, Now in its fifth year children, staff and parents put on their running kit, limbered up and jogged into the warm sunshine of Sutton Park.

They were cheered on by probably the biggest crowd of supporters we have ever seen at this event as they ran (walked, jogged, hopped and skipped!) 9 laps round the park to complete the 5k event.

Special thanks go to:

Miss Ibbotson whose impeccable organisation ensured that the event ran as smoothly as usual.
All the staff who ran with the children and those who acted as marshals to ensure that the route was clearly marked and safely followed.
Parents who took part - ran with their children - and raised money along the way.
The local PCSO's who joined us in the park , helping to keep everyone safe.
The huge number of supporters who cheered everyone on and made the event so special for us all.

Same time next year everyone?
