You are warmly invited to join us for Stay and Play sessions.
Stay and Play is an excellent opportunity for us to build strong relationships between home and school and for the children to see those relationships in action. It also allows the children to work on projects over time in areas of the classroom allowing them to plan and carry out that plan which are excellent skills.
Please note that we are unable to accommodate pre-school siblings at these sessions due to insurance purposes; we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause. We understand that many of our Reception children have younger siblings but we hope you will be able to make alternative arrangements.
The aim of ‘stay and play’ is to develop children’s language and to give them an opportunity to plan their learning with an adult. Each morning children are encouraged to choose their own learning and to plan what they would like to do during the day. In the classroom we have continuous provision available; there are resources that are always available so children have the opportunity to make plans and follow them through eg. such things as the tools in the dough area, characters in the small world and items in the creation station. We also have our new class pets and a new wood work area.
We would love for you to use these sessions to plan an activity with your child, maybe the night before school or during breakfast time, and then come into school and carry it out - it may take more than one session.
We look forward to seeing you in our classroom.
