Year 2's Spring term!

Splendid Skies.

Our first topic of the Spring term was Splendid Skies. We began our topic by going to the park and releasing 60 balloons, one for each child in Year 1 and 2. We did this to find out how far they might travel in the wind. We were extremely shocked and VERY excited when we got a response from two boys, aged 7 and 9, from Odder in DENMARK. One of the balloons had been found in their garden tree whilst they were playing out in the snow! The Craven Herald loved our news so much they published an article about it!

Street Detectives.

Our second topic this term, Street Detectives, allowed us to learn a lot about the area around us and the homes we live in. We found out about the differences between detached, semi-detached and terrace houses and what Sutton was like in the past. We also had lots of fun learning about each other’s homes and even getting to watch video tours! They were very entertaining!

P.E

We have been gaining lots of new skills this term. We began by further developing our ball skills to enable us to play netball. In the second half term we developed our hockey skills. We really enjoyed this and loved the new challenge of having to control a small ball with a stick. We are looking forward to further developing our P.E skills next term!
