Christingle Service - Dec 14

We held a beautiful  Christingle Service in St Thomas's Chruch, Sutton in Craven on the afternoon of 19 Dec 14. The weather outside was dreadful - howling winds and drenching rain but inside our village church was lit by candles and the Christmas tree twinkled. Ewan led the school choir as they walked down the aisle holding lanterns and singing  'Away in a Manger' to begin the service. Each class made a contribution and together we sang some of our favourite carols and heard about the work of the Children's Society, our chosen Christmas charity. On almost the darkest day of the year our school lit the church with candlelight in a magical end to the first term of 1415. Thanks to Rev Tim Calow for making us all so welcome and for his prayers and blessings. Happy Christmas!
