' A Night at the Proms' - It's a sell out!

The sound of strumming, singing, plucking, tapping and tinkling filled the air as the young musicians and performers performed in  our first ever 'Night at the Proms' held school at 6.00pm on Wednesday 18 Mar 15.

Tickets were sold out as friends and families filled the flag strewn hall waiting to hear our young 'maestros' perform. Ranging from the youngest pupils to the surprise appearance by a staff choir all the performers did themselves and our school proud. We heard ocarinas and ukuleles, solo singers and group choirs and they were just brilliant!  It was the second outing too for our school based, lottery funded, community brass band, 'Sutton's Got Brass' who demonstrated quite how far they have come in a really short time.

Thanks go to anyone who helped in any way - particularly to Mrs Newton, Miss Baldwin and Ms Dunkley who masterminded the event. Same time next year everyone?

The audience said:

'Just wanted to congratulate  you again on your general fabulousness! Thank you for tonight.'

'Night at the proms at school was fab :) What a lovely evening it's been.'
