Christingle Dec 15

We held a beautiful  Christingle Service in St Thomas's Church, Sutton in Craven on the afternoon of 17 Dec 15. The weather outside was dark and cold but inside our village church was lit by candles and the Christmas tree twinkled. Y5 started the service by a lantern lit rendition of ‘Light a Candle in the Window’ followed by Y4 singing ‘Winter Nights.’

Every class made a contribution and together we sang some of our favourite carols and heard about the work of the Children's Society, our chosen Christmas charity.

On almost the darkest day of the year our school lit the church with candlelight in a magical end to the first term of 1516. Thanks to Rev Helen Collings for making us all so welcome and for her prayers and blessings. Happy Christmas!

We are delighted to tell you that we were able to send  a £350 donation to support the work of the Children’s Society. We collected this by carol singing in the community and donations at the Christingle service – thank you!
