Safer Internet Day - 2017

*** UPDATE***

Following our safer internet session on 7 Mar 17 for parents two issues were raised:

1)Concerns about Youtube and children watching inappropriate content.

AND

2)Worries about unsuitable online games.

So...

There is a kids you tube app (that restricts access) for Google and Apple devices.  Info @https://kids.youtube.com/

Website, apps and games can be reviewed on a NSPCC website, https://www.net-aware.org.uk/.  This site also provides guidance on how to operate privacy settings, reporting etc.

We'd like to suggest are a couple of good videos for parents to watch with their children

Internet Safety Week 2017

Sutton CP School is joined the global Safer Internet Day campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day will take place on Tuesday 7th February 2016 with the theme ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’.

Celebrated in over 100 countries, Safer Internet Day will see Sutton CP join hundreds of organisations right across the UK and globally to ‘be the change’ and help create a better internet.

To celebrate the day, Sutton CP children will take part in a variety of activities to equip children and young people with the skills they need to have a safe and positive time online.

Sutton CP will be part of a nationwide day of action involving the #SID2017 social media campaign and youth events where young people will have the opportunity to have their say about the digital issues that affect them.

Why not get involved in the social media campaign for Safer Internet Day by sharing what you are doing for the day?  Post photos and share what you are doing, adding your voice to the biggest global social media campaign about the safe and positive use of technology.
