Y6 Residential to Bewerley Park Oct 2019

'Just a quick message to say a massive thank you to all the staff at school and support staff at Bewerley Park. Our daughter has had an amazing time and we have loved hearing all the stories of the activities they have done this week. She has come back a little more confident, and increased self belief that she can overcome any fears thrown her way. Hearing that pupils have helped and supported each other, when they needed it, is such a lovely thing to know. It must have brought them all a little closer as friends. We are so glad that she went on the trip and she has made memories to last her for years to come. Kind regards Y6 Parent'

And so it was like Y6's before them our children took an important step in independence when they spent a week away from home and school at Bewerley Park Outdoor Education School in the Yorkshire Dales. Although less than an hour away by bus the children felt a world away! Nestled in the picturesque little town of Pateley Bridge the school in housed in cosy wooden buildings sounded by glorious green countryside. During the week the group had lots of adventures, learned loads about themselves and their friends and made countless magical memories. Miss D reports that behaviour was excellent and that the group were hugely supportive of each other - encouraging each other through the challenges presented. There was hiking and climbing, building and canoeing, laughter and tears. Everyone came back grubby, tired and a with a new sense of respect for themselves and for their friends and classmates. Y6 we salute you! Special thanks go to our wonderful staff, Miss Dunkley, Miss Ibbotson and Mrs Wallace, and of course - to the brilliant team at Bewerley Park. Same time next year?
