Pre Sats Pizza Party

Just before KS2 SATs 44 adults and children met to practice sats papers and eat pizza together!

Parents who attended said it was useful because:

  • 'I found it useful to do practice sats papers.'
  • It was useful 'finding out what exactly the children would be expected to do and how we can support them through the process.' It was a nice idea to include the children the event and the pizza was an added attraction. It was just right.
  • Mrs Patrick going through how the children have been prepared for the sats and also going through sats questions. It has been very reassuring
  • It helped me understand the sats process.
  • Talking with other parents, working 1:1 on a sats paper, greater understanding  of expectations. many thanks as always for all support.
  • Excellent to know how the school are supporting the children in class. The practical tips to help my daughter. Especially re common mistakes. The session having a go at some example questions.
  • getting to talk to teachers about the papers. I feel it has helped with confidence of the children. It was a lovely thoughtful event.
  • Finding out about how the sats week is planned, finding out why the sats are held and how the school preparers the children for them
  • It was very useful to have a go with my child.
  • * liked the fact that she could sit and do some questions with me.
  • It was nice to be with * and showing her my support, and working through the questions together, very informative for parents new to sats. It was lovely relaxed and well led! You do a great job informing parents how they can help. Thank you for your time and hard work.
  • To find out more about how we as parents can support our children and have the opportunity to try a few questions together.

Parents also said:

  • I think it is a good idea that sats' isn't pushed all the way through Y6 and priority is given to other important areas of the curriculum
  • We will look at sats papers online
  • Overall I am pleased that you are not doing lots of testing or coaching. The sats results need to be a true reflection of my daughters ability.
