Girls Cricket Tournament - June 22

Marvellous girls’ cricket

On Tuesday the 7th June eight Y5/6 girls took part in the first ever Girls’ Cricket Tournament organised by Yorkshire Cricket. We were in Craven cluster and the event took place in Skipton cricket club. Our amazing girls played four matches, winning three and only losing 1 by the smallest of margins.

Their teamwork, support for each other and passion to do well earned them a place in the North Yorkshire Final.

It was a beautiful sunny day, all the girls enjoyed themselves thoroughly and had lots of fun. This tournament also had a Commonwealth games theme as women’s cricket is one of the events in this summer’s games. Each team taking part was representing one of the Commonwealth countries, and we represented Barbados.

Our fabulous girls even made a song about being from Barbados, amazing. It was a brilliant event.

Well done Team Sutton!
