YR ‘Stay and Play’ sessions - Spring Term 2 2018/19

Wednesday, 6 March, 2019 - 09:00

Thank you to everyone who came to our ‘stay and play’ sessions last term.

We are delighted to say that the stay and play sessions will be starting again after half term.

The session will be on Wednesdays, beginning 6th March, from 9.00am until 9.20am.

Please drop your child off as usual and then sign in at the main entrance where you will be collected and brought down to the Early Years classroom.

The aim of ‘stay and play’ is to develop children’s language and to give them an opportunity to plan their learning with an adult. Each morning children are encouraged to choose their own learning and to plan what they would like to do during the day. In the classroom we have continuous provision available; there are resources that are always available so children have the opportunity to make plans and follow them through eg. tools in the dough area, characters in the small world and items in the creation station. We also have our class pets and a wood work area.

We would love for you to use these sessions to plan an activity with your child, maybe the night before school or during breakfast time, and then come into school and carry it out - it may take more than one session.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pre-school siblings at these sessions due to insurance purposes; we apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.

We understand that many of our Reception children have younger siblings but we hope you will be able to make alternative arrangements. We look forward to seeing you in the classroom.

The last Wednesday session will be on 10th April. The Early Years Team
