Y1 and Y2 Performance

On Thursday 9 July  sixty Y1 and Y2 children from our school performed a brilliant production of ‘Noah’. The show was written by the talented Susie Newton, Y1 teacher, and produced together with Miss Annabel Robinson, Y2 teacher and was advertised promising ‘ a bit of a twist.’

That twist proved to be a fantastic blend of songs old and new presented by our very own  DJ ‘Heavenly Hank.’ The old songs had the grown ups in the audiences singing along whilst the new songs were written especially for the show.

Every member of the cast were word perfect and spoke their lines loudly and proudly. There were angels and builders along with Noah and his family (who knew before the show what a bossy wife he had?)

As the Ark loaded two by two we heard the thoughts, hopes and fears of the animals. There were elephants who were worried about water, owls concerned about leaving their books behind and snakes who were irritated by the bussing of the bees! The  bees wondered if there would be any flowers left  whilst the last minute pair of penguins were constantly asking, ‘Are we there yet?’

A particular delight of the show was the fine singing by the children, some of who are still only five! Every word could be heard and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the time the last note of the last song faded and the audience grooved  on down with the cast to ‘Love Train.’

Well done Y1 and Y2, and thanks to our amazing staff and supportive parents who practising lines and assembled an ark full of costumes!
