On Friday 5th May Sutton CP School held their own King Charles III Coronation Event. The day started with a whole school assembly where children learned about this historic occasion and Mr Clayton was crowned ‘King for the Day. The children in Reception and Year 2 made him a crown, orb and sceptre for the occasion and we even had a fanfare.
The children came to school dressed in red, white and blue to mark this significant occasion in our lives and the day was completed with our community Coronation Tea Party. Thank you to all those who attended and the kind donation of cakes – and a big shout out also to Miss Ibbotson for her beautiful Coronation Cake raffle prize which was won by Mrs Walker. Many thanks also to Miss Pickering and Miss Booker for the sweet treats and coronation quiche.
