Year 3

Year 3 is taught by Miss Malik (whilst Miss Dean is on maternity leave) and supported by Miss Blackie on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, and Miss Walton Monday afternoons, all day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and Friday afternoons.

In the mornings, we begin our day with spelling practice, we then have a movement break on the playground before continuing our learning focusing on English, Maths, Handwriting and Reading practice in the mornings. In the afternoons we have our Mastery Number lessons and our Foundation subjects.

Our P.E. days will be on a Thursday and Friday. Please come to school in your P.E. kit on these days.

Weekly spellings following the Purple Mash scheme will be sent home on a Friday, to be tested the following Friday. We also practise these daily in class. Please focus on consolidating the 3, 4 and 8 times tables at home this term. 

Our library book day will be a Wednesday. We will also change reading books, for the groups on the Little Wandle scheme, on a Friday. We will be reading the stretch and challenge and fluency books during reading practice sessions in school.
