Year 3

Year 3 is taught by Miss Dean and support by Miss Blackie on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning, and Mrs Carroll all day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

In the mornings, we begin our day with a morning activity that links to previous learning, we then have a movement break on the playground before continuing our learning focusing on English, Maths, handwriting, spellings and reading practice in the mornings. In the afternoons we have our Mastery Number lessons and our foundation subjects.

Our P.E. days will be on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please come to school in your P.E. kit on these days.

Weekly spellings following the Purple Mash scheme will be sent home on a Friday, to be tested the following Friday. We also practise these daily in class. Please focus on consolidating the 2,5 and 10 times tables at home this term. Next term, we will focus on the 3, 4 and 8s.

Our library book day will be a Wednesday. We will also change reading books, for the groups on the Little Wandle scheme, on a Friday. We will be reading the stretch and challenge and fluency books during reading practice sessions in school.
