Year 5

Welcome to Y5 which is taught by Mrs Whitehead supported by Mrs Kerr. 

 

Autumn Term

We are looking forward to many exciting activities, this term, in Year Five.

 

In the morning our first job is to go to the park and do our daily run/walk around the park. Then we are back into class for Handwriting/Spelling, Maths, Writing and Guided Reading.

We use the White Rose Maths scheme in our Maths lessons.

 

 

This half term we are reading Street Child by Berlie Doherty.

Our class topic for this term is "The Victorians". Our Science topic is "Properties of Materials".

 

PE

PE will be on Monday afternoons this term.

Please ensure you are wearing a white T shirt, black shorts/tracksuit trousers and trainers on Mondays.

 

Outdoor Learning

This will take place on Thursday afternoons. You can come to school wearing your PE kit. Please bring suitable shoes or wellies to change into and appropriate clothing.

 

Home Learning

Spellings will be set on Friday. They will be on Google Classroom and a paper copy provided.
